IMS are a steel stockholder, based in Essex, and are part of the Barclay & Mathieson Group, who have 15 Depots and 2 service centres nationwide. The group has over 500 employees and a turnover of almost £200 million. We traditionally sell general steels into the construction industry, and run a variety of processing machines in Shoeburyness. IMS alone employ over 150 staff at our facility and operate 24 hours per day.

We operate shotblast and painting, saw cutting, drilling, plasma Cutting, gas cutting, folding and shearing in house.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Transport material to the production warehouse in a timely manner

· Ensure all production ticket/notes are passed back to the respective lorry

· Deliver orders to the designated warehouse located on the Vanguard Way Industrial site

· Ensure we do our upmost to help and assist the warehouses so we can achieve 100% customer satisfaction in all warehouses

· Transfer material to and from warehouses to ensure we complete order deliveries

· Always follow the safe working practices when carrying out any movement of lorries or trailers

· Ensure that you do your job as you have been trained and not take short cuts

· Report any accidents or incidents that may occur on shift and assist with any inquiries regarding any accident

· To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed within the company

· To ensure all lorries or tugs in your control is always operated in line with the published SOP (standard Operating Procedures)

· Conduct ‘Before Use Checks’ and report all faults to the maintenance department

· Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line manager

Skills and Qualifications:

· Good experience of driving lorries and able to use tugs to assist with movement of trailer empty and fully loaded

Nights Forklift Operator

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift trucks and other materials-handling equipment to move, load, unload and position stock safely within the warehouse.
  • Generate (break down) rack locations using forklift equipment to create space for new and incoming stock.
  • Stow materials accurately into designated racking locations to maintain effective inventory control.
  • Retrieve materials using forklift equipment to support production requirements, processing T-Cards (Material Requested) and making materials ready for collection or delivery by side loader.
  • Pick, move and stage customer orders using forklift trucks in line with delivery ticket requests.
  • Support the preparation of customer consignments, ensuring materials are correctly positioned, banded and labelled ready for night-shift vehicle loading.
  • Locate stock and assist with preparing delivery tickets in advance to support efficient order picking.
  • Accurately complete and return delivery tickets to the designated ticket holding area.
  • Carry out daily “Before Use Checks” on forklift trucks and associated equipment, reporting any defects or faults promptly via management to the maintenance team.
  • Report stock discrepancies, damages or location issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Stock Checker.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, ensuring aisles, racking and floor areas are kept clear at all times.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times and all forklift and warehouse activities are carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Attend weekly Warehouse Manager meetings when required.
  • Support the wider warehouse operation by carrying out other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of safe forklift operation and load handling.
  • Good attention to detail and awareness of safety at all times.
  • A reliable team player with a flexible approach to operational demands.
