The group has over 500 employees and a turnover of almost £200 million. We traditionally sell general steels into the construction industry, and run a variety of processing machines in Shoeburyness. IMS alone employ over 150 staff at our facility and operate 24 hours per day.

We operate shotblast and painting, saw cutting, drilling, plasma Cutting, gas cutting, folding and shearing in house.

Nights Warehouse Operative

Role and responsibilities:

  • Generate (break down) rack locations to create space for new stock.
  • Maintain inventory controls by stowing stock away in the relevant location.
  • Prepare production orders by processing T-Cards (Material Requested); pulling materials, made ready for collection, delivered by trailer.
  • Prepare customer orders by processing delivery ticket requests; pulling materials, banding and labelling consignments, ready for vehicle loading on the night shift.
  • Prepare customer orders by processing delivery ticket requests; finding material location and preparing (writing up) all tickets, ready for pulling on the night shift.
  • Correctly complete delivery tickets and return to the ticket holding area.
  • Ensure all stock discrepancies are reported to the warehouse supervisor or the stock checker or manager.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times in the warehouse.
  • Maintain equipment by performing ‘Before Use Checks’ and reporting any faults, via management, to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping all racking and floor areas free from waste.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as specified by your line managers.

Role and responsibilities:

To operate Production Machinery efficiently in order to complete job tickets as metered out by Team Leaders in a timely fashion. To achieve agreed operational and output KPI’s whilst at the same time maintaining a high quality and standard of workmanship and customer service.

Main Job Accountabilities

  • To load and efficiently operate machinery you have been trained in and to maintain operational efficiency as agreed with the Production Manager.
  • To ensure the quality of production work is in line with the standards set out by the Quality Manager

JOB CONTENT

  • To ensure the T Card (or alternative) progress system is kept up to date in real time, so the Sales Department, Production Department and the Management team can monitor tickets in progress throughout the facility for all shifts.
  • To ensure T Cards are moved in a timely and orderly fashion in accordance with the processing order defined by the Team Leader/Production Manager.
  • To ensure all production processes and paperwork are completed legibly and accurately consistently and handed in to the correct departmental personnel in a timely manner.
  • To time manage the material presented to the machine so as to ensure that work flows through each stage of the production processes in the most efficient manner.
  • To complete the machine job accurately and prepare for dispatch in accordance with delivery requirements i.e. Banded, Labelled, & Stacked appropriately for loading.
  • To ensure that any Technical and/or Safety bulletins for Processing Machinery distributed to each machine operative is adhered to.
  • To ensure that data for OEE reports are completed and handed to the Team Leader/ Production Administrator so that OEE statistics can be produced accurately on a daily basis.
  • To fully complete material quality checks
  • To act on information produced by OEE statistics to ensure that workflow efficiencies are maximized at every opportunity.
  • To ensure machinery is operated in line with published SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times.
  • To ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout the Production work areas and machinery on a daily basis. This will include timely TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) schedules are adhered to.
  • To comply with the dress code, HSE and quality standards agreed within the company and to have personal responsibilities for the application of policies and procedures established for the department.
  • Ensure adequate information detailing issues on the shift, machine issues, jobs in progress are relayed to the Team Leader, and Day Shift Operator.

  • Lead and motivate the site Transport team, promoting a strong safety and customer-focused culture

  • To ensure the efficient and timely operations of the administrator systems and operating procedures associated with the Production Department and the processing materials
  • Import NC files provided by customers into CAD software
  • Verify and document any modifications made to customer files, providing updates to the sales team
  • Import and clean up DXF/DWG CAD files for accurate nesting, removing unnecessary elements and saving multiple drawings as individual files
  • Understand machine capabilities and limitations
  • Offer solutions or alternatives to meet customer needs, including identifying suitable cutting methods (plasma,gas, laser)
  • Nest drilling and cutting jobs to minimize waste and optimize cutting patterns
  • Nest jobs as needed to utilize offcuts effectively and reduce material waste
  • Provide detailed drilling packs, including changes made, cutting patterns and job specifics for sales team quotations
  • Create and manage drawings for customer approval, including and required cutting or drilling details
  • Assist the sales team with enquiries related to machine capabilities and production feasibility

The Role of Trainee Sales Executive provides a broad exposure to our business, starting at the ground floor in an industry which is rapidly developing to cover many market sectors. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Accept incoming telephone/email enquiries & orders from customers & prospects.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include pulling, craning and loading materials for onward delivery. This work is of a physical nature and involves lifting, carrying and pulling. The objective is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.

A non-negotiable key objective for the role is to ensure that all vehicles are loaded prior to the end of the shift.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all products for delivery are correct and that they have been loaded correctly and safely
  • Responsible for completing the daily paperwork
  • Execute any special requests as directed on the delivery note
  • To make safe and efficient deliveries to the customer(s) following the planned route
  • Be friendly and polite to customers at all times
  • Responsible for taking your vehicle to service when required to do so
  • To permanently maintain contact with the transport department and announce any issues as soon as they arise

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good safety practices and driving habits
  • Full C or CE license
  • Digital Tacho card
  • DCPC
  • A good understanding of Drivers hours and regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail

Business Development Executive

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote & develop new additional sales in line with group strategic aims
  • Offer technical & commercial assistance to existing sales team, assisting them to identify and secure orders
  • Assist the Depot Manager in effectively managing existing customer base and help to develop and grow existing supplier/customer relationships
  • Conduct targeted customer site visits to raise brand awareness, highlight new products, services and special offers
  • Aid in the resolution of problems & disputes with customers
  • Give assistance and encouragement to the support of additional trade counter/collection type business. Identifying improvements, suggesting new product ranges and ensuring service levels are maintained
  • Produce thorough & detailed reports of all business development tasks undertaken, including visit & call reports
  • Process customer enquiries & orders in line with group pricing expectations
  • Liaise with Credit Control & Depot Management to ensure group credit policies are adhered to and offer assistance in ensuring customer accounts are paid to terms
  • Support & mentor existing sales staff, providing coaching as/when needed
  • Any other sales/business development tasks deemed necessary by Group Management

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams
  • Experience in lead generation and market research
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and other business development software is a plus
  • Prior experience in steel or related industries is advantageous but not essential as on the job sales training given
