Are 26.9mm tube clamps suitable for public access handrails?

However, for compliance, you must ensure that the complete handrail system meets all applicable UK safety regulations, such as Building Regulations Part K or DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) guidelines, including correct height, spacing, and load-bearing capacity.

Can these tube clamps be mixed with larger diameters in one structure?

Yes – you can combine 26.9mm tube clamps with larger sizes (such as 33.7mm, 42.4mm, or 48.3mm) in a single framework. This is often done where lighter sections are needed for certain areas and stronger, heavier sections elsewhere. However, you will need adaptor fittings or designed transition points to maintain structural integrity and alignment.

How are 26.9mm tube clamps secured?

The clamps are designed with integral high-tensile grub screws that lock the tube in place when tightened with an Allen key. This method avoids the need for welding, threading, or specialist machinery, while still achieving a strong, vibration-resistant hold.
