Yes. Plastic battens can be fixed directly to masonry, blockwork, or brickwork using appropriate masonry anchors or frame fixings rated for external use. Ensure fixings are positioned to avoid splitting the batten along its length.

What batten spacing should I use for cladding?

As a general guide, battens should be fixed at 600mm intervals with the lowest batten positioned at least 20mm above ground level. This maintains adequate support across standard cladding board lengths and preserves the ventilated cavity behind the cladding surface. For commercial or large-scale installations, our technical sales team can advise on whether closer spacing is required for your specific cladding system and board weight.
